This section is an archive of past research and thinking on water and livelihoods perspectives. It is also a source of data on water poverty in the developing world.

We hope this section can take the messages beyond just written ouputs to highlight other forms of documentation, whether photographic, audio-visual or in other electronic formats that help documents the complex issues surrounding water and livelihoods.

Please send us links to any work you think should be added as well as provide any examples of work that we can upload on the site. We are looking particularly for a rich variety of local-level perspectives.

The Community Media Trust - a women's grassroots video team from Medak District in Andhra Pradesh, India - have produced a short (30 min) video film entitled 'Understanding linkages: water and livelihoods in Andhra Pradesh, India'. The film exposes the complexity of water supply and management issues, and considers the potentials and pitfalls of current efforts to solving these problems through watershed development that harvests rainwater and encourages the replinishment of aquifers.
